HOLT, Mo. 鈥 A Missouri journalist sustained a minor injury after being hit by metal fragments during a campaign event in Holt, the reported.

A KSHB-TV reporter was grazed in the arm by flying metal debris on Oct. 22 while Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Lucas Kunce, a Marine veteran, was firing a rifle at outdoor targets. After receiving first aid from Kunce himself, the reporter resumed covering the event, according to the Associated Press.

The Kansas City-based television station reported that the journalist later sought treatment at a local hospital for a minor injury.

Kunce addressed the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, 鈥淲e had four first aid kits, so we were able to take care of the situation.鈥 He added that he was relieved the reporter was not seriously hurt.

Kunce is currently running to unseat Republican U.S. Senator Josh Hawley in the upcoming election.
