MARIETTA, Ga. 鈥 Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service announced that its Medical Director Dr. Yuko Nakajima, M.D., has been named one of Japan鈥檚 鈥2025 Women of the Year.鈥
This prestigious national award is presented annually by Nikkei, Japan鈥檚 leading financial newspaper, with support from the Cabinet Office of the Japanese Government.
Dr. Nakajima was one of nine women selected for this national honor, which recognizes women who have made groundbreaking contributions in their field while staying true to their mission and values. The award celebrates women who are role models for working professionals across Japan.
In addition to the national award, Dr. Nakajima was also featured as the cover story for Doctor鈥檚 Magazine, one of the most respected publications in Japan鈥檚 medical community. With a circulation of 65,000, the magazine reaches over 15,000 medical institutions and 50,000 subscribers.
Dr. Nakajima is an Assistant Professor in the Emergency Medicine Department of Emory University Hospital鈥檚 School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Sapporo Medical University.
She serves as Physician Medical Director for Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service and is responsible for clinical oversight of more than 800 professional EMT鈥檚 and paramedics. She also represents Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service as a member of the EMS Medical Directors Advisory Council for the State of Georgia.
Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service is a nationally recognized, award-winning provider of emergency medical services, serving hospitals, municipalities and communities throughout Georgia. The organization is the 9-1-1 ambulance provider for Cobb, Bartow and Paulding counties.
